The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has officially begun the evaluation process for the 2024 Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research. This prestigious award aims to promote educational research throughout the Arab world, highlighting exemplary practices that enhance learning and innovation.

This year, the award has garnered significant interest, attracting a total of 154 research submissions from 11 Arab nations. Notably, Saudi Arabia leads with a remarkable contribution of 103 research papers, followed by Egypt with 17 and the UAE with 16 submissions. Other countries participating in this year’s award include Jordan, Kuwait, and Oman, reflecting a collective regional commitment to advancing educational innovation.

Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General and CEO of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the increase in submissions, stating, “The significant rise in submissions this year is a clear indicator of the dedication shown by educational researchers across the Arab world towards improving the quality of education.” He underscored the award’s mission to stimulate creative thinking within educational research, aiming to discover innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges faced by the sector.

Dr. Al Suwaidi further elaborated, "We look forward to seeing these research efforts contribute to the creation of robust, sustainable educational systems that support the future of learning across the Arab region.” The Hamdan-ALECSO Award serves as a key platform for recognizing institutions and individuals for their outstanding contributions to education, inspiring researchers to produce exceptional work that enriches the educational ecosystem in the region.

An international panel of experienced academics will evaluate the submissions, ensuring a thorough and impartial review process. The total prize money for the award amounts to US$25,000, targeting a diverse group of researchers including teachers, school administrators, social workers, psychologists, and university professors—all focused on fostering innovation in education.

Moreover, the award aims to support new technological initiatives and modern teaching methodologies, ensuring that the educational sector remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence. By encouraging high-quality research, the Hamdan-ALECSO Award continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of education in the Arab world.
