GPT-5 will be smarter and more helpful. OpenAI wants to remove the trouble of choosing between different versions of its chatbot. This new model will be able to do many tasks without users needing to change settings.
The new version will have many useful features. People will be able to talk to it using their voice, making it feel more natural. It will also have a tool to help with pictures and text. The search feature will give more correct and useful answers, and it will be able to understand and explain difficult topics better.
OpenAI will make GPT-5 available in ChatGPT and its API. Free users will be able to use it, but with some limits to prevent misuse. ChatGPT Plus users will get a better version, and ChatGPT Pro users will have the smartest and most powerful version.
CEO Sam Altman said that OpenAI wants AI to be simple and easy. He said that the current system is too confusing, and they want to fix this. In his post on X, he wrote, “We hate the model picker as much as you do and want to return to magic unified intelligence.”
Before launching GPT-5, OpenAI will first release GPT-4.5, which is called Orion inside the company. This will be the last version without the ability to check its own mistakes. The newer models, like GPT-5, will be able to check and improve their own answers.
OpenAI believes GPT-5 will help people in many ways, making work and learning easier with its smart and simple design.
