Emirates has announced it will start a third non-stop daily flight between Dubai and Melbourne from 30 March 2025. This new flight will use Emirates' upgraded Boeing 777-300ER airplane, which offers four classes of seating: First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. The plane will include the airline's popular Premium Economy seats and the latest, most comfortable Business Class seats.
Right now, Emirates runs two non-stop daily flights between Dubai and Melbourne using its large Airbus A380 planes. The airline also operates another flight between Dubai and Melbourne, which stops in Singapore on the way. However, from 30 March 2025, Emirates will stop the Singapore connection and replace it with this new direct flight between Dubai and Melbourne. This change will give passengers more travel options and more convenient schedules.
Details About the New Flight
The new flight will operate as EK404/405. Flight EK404 will leave Dubai at 9:15 PM and arrive in Melbourne the next day at 5:40 PM. The return flight, EK405, will leave Melbourne at 11:55 PM and arrive back in Dubai at 7:00 AM the following morning.

The upgraded Boeing 777-300ER will have 8 First Class suites, 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy Class seats.
This new flight will provide passengers with better travel choices and a more comfortable experience. Travelers will also be able to connect to 27 cities in Europe, like London, Paris, and Frankfurt, through Emirates’ hub in Dubai.
Bringing Back Flights in Australia
Emirates is working to bring back all its flight services in Australia to the levels before the pandemic. From 1 December, the airline will add a second daily flight to Perth. This will increase the number of weekly seats available to nearly 12,000. The Perth flights will also use the Boeing 777-300ER, with First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class seating.
On 28 October, Emirates restarted flights to Adelaide, connecting South Australia to its global network of destinations. With this, Emirates now operates 77 flights every week across five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. These flights not only help travelers but also boost tourism, business, and trade.
Commitment to Australia
Emirates has been committed to serving Australia for nearly 30 years. It is not just about flights—Emirates also works with local businesses, sports teams, and cultural events. The airline has invested over $230 million in sponsorships, supporting events like the Australian Open tennis tournament and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Emirates also employs hundreds of Australians, both in the country and around the world.
In November, the UAE and Australia signed an important trade agreement. This agreement will strengthen the economic relationship between the two countries. Emirates will play a big role in this, as its flights can carry over 2,350 tonnes of cargo to and from Australia every week. This will help businesses move goods quickly and efficiently.
Partnership with Qantas
Emirates also works closely with Qantas, Australia’s largest airline. Together, they provide access to more than 120 destinations, including 60 locations across Australia and New Zealand. This partnership has carried over 15 million passengers in the last 10 years. Qantas customers can use Emirates to fly to Dubai and connect to cities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
A Brighter Future for Melbourne and Emirates
With the addition of this new flight, Emirates is showing its strong commitment to Melbourne and Australia. The third non-stop daily flight will make travel easier and more comfortable for passengers. It will also improve connections between Australia and Europe, helping people travel for business, family, or holidays. Emirates continues to offer world-class services and play an important role in connecting Australia to the rest of the world.
