During the event, Trump gave multiple shout-outs to Musk, saying, "You are so lucky I am with you, Elon," while promoting new tax deductions for domestic cars. Musk later thanked Trump publicly on X, writing, "I would like to thank President Trump for all he has done for America and the world," and shared photos with Trump, the Saudi Crown Prince, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

The dinner came months after Musk’s brief role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a post he held from January until May. Trump had announced Musk would leave the position when his special government contract ended. Following his exit, Musk criticized some of Trump’s budget plans, calling the spending plan the "Big Beautiful Bill."

Now, Musk’s allies are organizing a large reunion party in Austin to celebrate his time working with Trump. Dozens of former DOGE staff are expected to attend, and Musk is also likely to join the two-day event. The celebration will take place at a luxury hotel where Musk often stays, and it is being organized by leaders from DOGE.
