Under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian has sent a new shipment of critical medical supplies to help with emergency efforts in Gaza. This latest delivery includes 56.8 metric tonnes of medical supplies, provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), and was flown to El Arish Airport in Egypt.
The shipment, valued at more than AED 4.33 million, left Dubai on April 23 aboard a B747F cargo plane operated by the Dubai Air Wing. This is the 25th airlift coordinated by Dubai Humanitarian to support Gaza during this crisis. The medical supplies are meant to restock medical equipment in El Arish, which can then be moved into Gaza as soon as it is safe to do so. This shipment is expected to help over 250,000 people in need.

Giuseppe Saba, the CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, shared, “Our mission is to serve humanity, no matter the place or time. Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we are committed to helping people in need by quickly sending life-saving aid to Gaza. In times of great suffering, it is our duty to stand with those affected. Every shipment we send is a message of hope, reminding people in crisis that they are not forgotten.”
Dr. Hanan Balkhy, the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, said, “The World Health Organization is sending 56 metric tonnes of essential medicines, including special medications for patients with injuries and psychological trauma. WHO has already sent over 175 metric tonnes of supplies this year. This airlift includes trauma and surgical supplies to help doctors and hospitals save lives and ease suffering. We thank Dubai Humanitarian and the government of Dubai for their strong support of our health emergency efforts and for their dedication to humanitarian causes. The WHO’s Logistics Hub in Dubai plays a key role in our emergency operations. It helps us deliver more supplies to more people and at lower costs, which is even more important now.”
Since January 2025, Dubai Humanitarian has organized four airlifts to El Arish, delivering almost 256 metric tonnes of medical supplies from WHO. As the world’s largest humanitarian logistics hub, Dubai Humanitarian continues to work closely with the United Nations, international NGOs, and government partners to make sure that critical aid reaches those in need quickly and efficiently.
