Dubai South, the largest city project in one place in the UAE, has opened a brand-new logistics center in its Logistics District for Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. Expeditors is a major global logistics company based in the United States and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: EXPD). It is also a Fortune 500 company.
The opening ceremony of this new facility was attended by top officials from both Dubai South and Expeditors. Some of the key people present were Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District at Dubai South; Wael Hanna, District Manager of Expeditors in Dubai; K Murali, Senior Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent; and Mathew Joseph, Regional Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa.

The new facility covers around 23,200 square meters. It is built to handle many types of warehouse and delivery services. These include container freight operations, inventory management, labelling, order handling, checking product quality, return processes, packing and shipping, and transportation management.
Mohsen Ahmad said, “We are happy to open this new facility for Expeditors. It will help bring smart and modern logistics services to meet the growing needs of the region. At Dubai South, we always aim to support Dubai’s goal of becoming one of the top logistics centers in the world.”
Wael Hanna shared his thoughts too. He said, “We opened our first office in Dubai over 25 years ago. This new center shows how committed we are to improving our services for our customers and making our operations even better.”
Expeditors is a well-known logistics company with its head office in Bellevue, Washington, USA. It has 176 offices and many branches across six continents. These offices work together through a strong technology network. The company offers services such as air and sea freight forwarding, customs help, cargo insurance, order and inventory management, and full warehouse and delivery solutions.
Dubai South’s Logistics District is known for its modern infrastructure and world-class services. It connects directly to Jebel Ali Port using a special bonded corridor. The area also includes different zones like the Contract Logistics Zone, the EZDubai e-commerce zone, and direct access to the cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport. This makes it a top location for businesses needing strong and fast supply chain services.
