The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), one of the world’s top business hubs based in Dubai, has announced that more than 260 Indian companies joined its community in the last 12 months. This marks a 7% increase compared to last year and brings the total number of Indian companies at DMCC to nearly 4,000.

This news was shared during two special events held in India’s major business cities – Mumbai and Hyderabad. DMCC organized these events to connect with Indian business owners and invite more companies to expand their operations in Dubai. Indian companies now make up 16% of all businesses working within DMCC.

Many of these companies are involved in industries like precious stones, gold and metals, farming and food trade, and new technologies.

The strong partnership between India and the UAE is a key reason for this growth. In 2024, trade between the two countries reached over USD 85 billion. Experts believe this number could go beyond USD 100 billion before 2030. A major reason for this boost is the CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement), signed in 2022, which made trade and business easier between both nations.

During the events, DMCC shared how Dubai can help Indian businesses grow globally. They also talked about how companies can benefit from easier operations, better supply chains, and access to fast-growing markets.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DMCC’s Executive Chairman and CEO, said that India and the UAE are entering a new and important phase of business partnership. He also mentioned the recent visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to India as a sign of growing ties.

“With trade between our countries crossing USD 85 billion, we are seeing big opportunities in sectors like investment, services, infrastructure, technology, and food security,” said Mr. Bin Sulayem. “This growth is also seen at DMCC, where over 260 Indian companies joined us in just one year.”

He added that DMCC will continue to support Indian businesses, especially in areas like physical goods, services, and new technologies. DMCC wants to be the top choice for Indian companies looking to expand to Dubai and beyond.

The India events were held in partnership with two major organizations: the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI).

These visits are part of DMCC’s global Made For Trade Live roadshow, where they travel to different countries to meet business leaders and promote Dubai as a global trade center.

With over 25,000 member companies, DMCC contributes around 15% to Dubai’s annual foreign direct investment (FDI). It is one of the most important places for global business growth and innovation.
