Inside the New Kapoor Reunion Show and Alia Bhatt’s Absence

Dining With the Kapoors brings together Bollywood’s iconic Kapoor family for a rare, candid dinner conversation in a new Netflix special. Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Armaan Jain, and Aadar Jain appear together, offering viewers an unfiltered look at their relationships, memories, and family dynamics.

Fans quickly noticed that Alia Bhatt was not part of the gathering. Addressing the speculation, show creator Armaan Jain clarified that Alia could not attend due to prior work commitments. He emphasized that the Kapoor family strongly values professional responsibilities, and it is normal for one or two members to miss such events.

Director Smriti Mundhra also shared that coordinating schedules for a large, work-driven family is challenging, and their absence from such gatherings is always understood.

The Kapoor family's long-standing legacy—from Prithviraj Kapoor to Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, and the current generation including Kareena, Karisma, and Ranbir—adds significant cultural weight to the special.
