After meeting the members of DEWA’s Youth Council, Al Tayer congratulated them and praised their hard work. He explained that this achievement reflects DEWA’s continuous efforts to empower young individuals. He also highlighted that this success aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Their leadership has placed the UAE among the top countries in the world that focus on youth development.
“We are committed to preparing and empowering the youth. We invest in their talents, enhance their skills, and support their innovative ideas so they can become future leaders in sustainability. Their contributions play a key role in achieving the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. We are proud of the DEWA Youth Council’s achievements and its efforts in supporting the National Youth Agenda 2031. This agenda aims to make Emirati youth a strong model of intelligence, values, and responsibility, helping them contribute to the country’s economic and social progress. Currently, DEWA has 2,753 young employees between the ages of 18 and 35, making up 25.7% of the total workforce. Additionally, young employees hold 39% of leadership positions within DEWA,” said Al Tayer.
Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, President of DEWA’s Youth Council, expressed her gratitude for the continuous support and guidance provided by DEWA’s leadership. She emphasized that this support has allowed the Youth Council to excel in its duties and responsibilities. She also highlighted the Council’s efforts in raising youth awareness, enhancing their technical skills, and preparing them to play a key role in sustainable development. The Council collaborates with both national and international organizations to increase youth participation in different sectors, especially in clean and renewable energy. Through these efforts, DEWA continues to strengthen its global reputation.
Since October 2019, DEWA’s Youth Council has actively contributed to many youth-focused activities. Between 2019 and early 2025, the Council organized 77 events, conducted 23 awareness sessions, and arranged 8 educational trips and field visits. It also took part in 12 international conferences and forums, hosted 13 benchmarking visits, and supported participation in 4 national and international programs during 2023 and 2024. Additionally, the Council launched several initiatives and developed more than 10 communication platforms to engage young DEWA employees. These efforts have been well received, with a 95% happiness rate among young employees regarding the Council’s activities and programs.
This award recognizes DEWA’s Youth Council as a leading force in youth empowerment. Through its work, the Council continues to inspire and prepare the next generation of leaders who will contribute to the UAE’s sustainable future.
