Manchester United 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day made their Christmas even worse, leaving the team in 14th place in the Premier League. Fans are worried as the team is about to play tough matches against Newcastle United, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

Ruben Amorim, who became the manager after Erik ten Hag, has had a difficult start. Amorim has lost five of his first 10 games. Many people think the team is not ready to fight for the top spots yet, and Amorim has said that it will take time to improve.

At the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Cristiano Ronaldo showed his full support for Amorim. Ronaldo praised the manager for his great work at Sporting Lisbon, where he helped the club win the league title after 19 years in 2020-21. However, Ronaldo also said the Premier League is a much harder league, calling it “the most competitive league in the world.”

Ronaldo added that although Amorim will face challenges, he believes that the team will overcome these struggles: "I knew it would be tough, but the storm will end and the sun will shine." His encouraging words came as Manchester United has struggled with poor results.

Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in 2021 after leaving Juventus but had a difficult second time at the club. His time ended early after an interview in November 2022, where he criticized the club. Ronaldo believes that Manchester United's problems are not just about the coaches, saying: "I said this a year and a half ago, and I will say it again: the problem is not with the coaches."

He explained his point by saying: "It’s like a sick fish in an aquarium. If you take it out and fix the problem but put it back in the same aquarium, it will get sick again. That’s the problem with Manchester United."

Ronaldo’s thoughts are important as Manchester United is on track to get just 49 points this season, which would be their worst ever in the Premier League. This is fewer than the 58 points they got in the 2021-22 season.

Even with these problems, Amorim deserves time and patience to turn things around. He hasn’t had the chance to bring in new players yet, so blaming him for everything is unfair. Manchester United’s problems are bigger than just one coach, and it will take time to fix them.
