Tottenham Hotspur triumphed with a decisive 3-0 victory over 10-man Manchester United, boosting their standing to eighth place in the Premier League with 10 points after six matches. The loss left United languishing in 12th position, with just seven points, and reignited scrutiny on manager Erik ten Hag following the ejection of captain Bruno Fernandes in the 42nd minute due to a high tackle on James Maddison.
The match kicked off with Tottenham displaying their attacking prowess, taking an early lead just three minutes in. Defender Micky van de Ven made an impressive run, carrying the ball over half the length of the pitch before delivering a low cross into the six-yard box. Brennan Johnson was on hand to tap it in, marking his fourth goal in as many games.

As the rain poured down in Manchester, Spurs continued to dominate play, leaving United struggling to find their footing. They doubled their advantage shortly after the halftime break in the 47th minute. A slip by United's Lisandro Martinez allowed Johnson to break free, and his deflected cross found Dejan Kulusevski, who executed a stunning acrobatic finish over goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The third goal came in the 77th minute, when Dominic Solanke netted after Pape Matar Sarr headed on a corner kick taken by substitute Lucas Bergvall. The goal prompted a wave of discontent among United fans, many of whom began to exit the stadium in frustration.
Spurs could have extended their lead even further, registering 10 shots on target compared to just two from United. Onana made a remarkable double save in the second half, denying attempts from Timo Werner and Solanke.
United managed to create a few chances, with Alejandro Garnacho hitting the post late in the first half. Casemiro also squandered opportunities, firing wide in the second half and visibly expressing his frustration.
Overall, it was a challenging evening for Manchester United and their supporters, while Tottenham celebrated a comprehensive victory that showcased their potential under manager Ange Postecoglou.
