Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is celebrating 10 years of providing high-quality healthcare. Since it opened in 2015, the hospital has helped over 6.8 million patients and carried out more than 175,000 surgeries. In 2024, the hospital treated over 1 million patients and did more than 26,000 surgeries.

The hospital was created to offer special care for serious and complicated health problems, so patients in the UAE don’t have to travel abroad for treatment. Over the years, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has become a leader in different medical areas, like heart surgery, cancer care, transplants, and brain treatments. The hospital has 8 special departments, with more than 5,700 workers from over 80 countries.
His Excellency Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, praised the hospital for its role in making Abu Dhabi’s healthcare system one of the best. He said, “Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is setting new standards in healthcare and helping to bring doctors and patients from all over the world.”
Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, talked about the success of the hospital and how it has helped people not just in the UAE but also from other countries. He said the hospital is dedicated to research, teaching, and improving care for all patients.
Tom Mihaljevic, CEO of Cleveland Clinic, shared how proud he is of the hospital's success. He said that in just 10 years, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has brought world-class care to the region and has educated many future doctors and nurses.
Dr. Georges-Pascal Haber, CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, spoke about the hospital’s dedication to providing the best care for patients. He said they are focused on making healthcare better and improving medical treatments through research.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has achieved many medical milestones. It has performed over 800 organ transplants, including the first robotic kidney transplants in the UAE. The hospital is also a leader in heart care, performing surgeries like heart valve replacements and heart surgeries with robotic tools.
The Fatima bint Mubarak Center, opened in 2023, has helped change cancer care in the UAE. It has provided over 55,000 visits to cancer patients, and has been the first in the UAE to offer robotic mastectomy (breast cancer surgery). The hospital is using advanced methods to treat cancer, like special tests to help doctors create personalized treatment plans.
In brain surgery, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has treated over 6,400 patients, including many with movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease. The hospital is also known for helping patients with stroke and other brain diseases.
The hospital is not just about patient care. It is also focused on education and research. Over the last 10 years, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has done hundreds of research projects and has taught over 90,000 healthcare workers through training programs.
The hospital plans to keep using new technology, like robotics and personalized treatments, to help patients get the best care. It is also committed to continuing its work in research, education, and helping train the next generation of doctors and nurses.
