His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, Vice President, and Prime Minister of the UAE, has made a new law to create the Al Maktoum Archives. This law, called Law No. (28) of 2024, sets up a public place to keep and share the history of Dubai’s rulers and the Al Maktoum family.
The Al Maktoum Archives Corporation will take care of this project. It will work under The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The goal of the Archives is to collect, protect, and share stories, important papers, and things that show the culture and history of Dubai’s leaders. It will also focus on the life and work of His Highness and how he helped make Dubai a famous city for culture and business.
The Archives will share the ideas, values, and culture of Dubai’s rulers. This will include books, videos, and other things to teach people about what the rulers have done for Dubai and the UAE. The Archives will also make sure these stories and items are safe for the future.

The Corporation’s work includes making plans to keep and share this history. It will record people’s stories, make videos, and study the achievements of Dubai’s rulers and the Al Maktoum family. A special digital archive will be created to keep these records safe and easy to find. The Corporation will also train people to manage archives and records.
The Archives will make books and other materials to show how Dubai’s leaders have changed the city. They will also work with other groups in Dubai and other countries to share knowledge and teach more people about Dubai’s history.
The Archives will protect important papers like letters and records of Dubai’s rulers and the Al Maktoum family. These papers will show their achievements in different areas. To make sure these papers are safe, the law says that anyone in Dubai who has such papers must register them with the Archives within one year. If the papers are not registered, they will become the property of the Archives. No one can throw away these papers without written permission from the Corporation.
This project will help save Dubai’s history and make it available to students, researchers, and future leaders. The Al Maktoum Archives will be very important in keeping Dubai’s history alive for many years
