85 Emirati and Arab Authors to Discuss at 43rd Sharjah Book Fair

The 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2024), organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), is set to take place from November 6 to 17 at the Expo Centre Sharjah. This year’s fair is themed “It Starts with a Book” and will feature an impressive lineup of 85 prominent Emirati and Arab authors and specialists. These celebrated figures, including award-winning novelists, poets, and playwrights, will participate in engaging discussions, interact with attendees, and offer signed copies of their latest works.

SIBF 2024 is packed with over 500 cultural activities spread across 12 days. The fair will host a variety of workshops, discussions, and seminars, allowing participating authors to share their personal experiences and reflect on the challenges they’ve faced in their literary journeys. They will also delve into the latest trends in both Arab and global literature, highlighting contemporary movements in prose and poetry, and showcasing their newest creative projects.

This year's event promises to be a lively celebration of literature, attracting notable figures from various literary disciplines who will share their insights and experiences with a diverse audience. In addition to the extensive lineup of authors, SIBF 2024 will welcome an impressive total of 2,522 publishers from 112 countries, including 835 Arab publishers and 264 international publishers. 

The international fair will host more than 1,357 activities led by 250 guests from 63 countries, celebrating the contributions of 400 authors who will be signing their latest works. For attendees eager to enhance their skills and knowledge, the fair will feature 600 workshops, including specialized sessions that have been pre-booked for the first time in the fair’s history.

With its rich program and the participation of renowned literary figures, SIBF 2024 is poised to be a landmark event in the literary calendar, fostering a love for reading and a deeper understanding of literature among visitors of all ages.
