In preparation for the bustling Songkran holiday, the Thai government has set forth extensive measures aimed at ensuring convenience, safety, and cost-effectiveness for the millions expected to travel. Authorities are proactively addressing concerns related to rising prices, availability of fuel, and transportation efficiency.
Officials have confirmed that fares for public transportation will remain unchanged during this festive period to alleviate the financial strain on travelers. Additionally, a nationwide effort is underway to bolster fuel supplies, with collaboration between transport agencies and energy providers to ensure adequate reserves at major transit locations.
To prevent potential disruptions, real-time GPS tracking is being employed to oversee over 5,700 fuel delivery trucks. This initiative is intended to guarantee timely fuel deliveries and mitigate shortages along key travel routes amidst heightened demand.
With expectations of substantial increases in travel from April 10 through 19, officials project millions of vehicle movements and public transport trips. Citizens are encouraged to plan their travels ahead of time to reduce congestion and enhance overall safety, with assurances that systems are in place to provide a smooth and secure travel experience.
