Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios are preparing for a historic rollout of their upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur, which will be screened across defence theatres throughout India. The film will be the first Indian project to reach these audiences through PictureTime’s expanding mobile cinema network. It releases worldwide on November 21.
PictureTime, along with GenSync Brat Media, has organised screenings in more than 800 defence cinema halls across the country. These theatres primarily serve soldiers and their families, many of whom live in remote regions with limited access to mainstream cinemas. The initiative is designed to take the film directly to the armed forces community.
Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of PictureTime, said the move aims to serve a vast but underserved audience. He noted that while India has 1.5 million active soldiers and millions of veterans and family members, only a small portion currently has access to defence theatres. He added that launching this wider network with 120 Bahadur is meaningful because of the film’s emotional connection with the forces.
Excel Entertainment CEO Vishal Ramchandani expressed gratitude that the film will reach the people it seeks to honour even before its public release. He said the team is privileged to have soldiers and their families as the first viewers, and credited PictureTime for enabling the extensive outreach.
120 Bahadur is inspired by the Battle of Rezang La, a significant moment in India’s military history. The film stars Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, and others. Senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan also appear in key roles.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, the film will hit cinemas on November 21.
