Dubai is set to host the Women’s Triathlon World Cup - Dubai 2025, the first global event fully dedicated to female athletes. Organised by the Dubai Sports Council, the competition will take place on Dubai Islands on 7th December 2025 under the supervision of World Triathlon and in collaboration with the UAE Triathlon Federation.
This historic event highlights Dubai’s commitment to empowering women in sports and providing international platforms for competitive excellence.
The championship will feature the three triathlon disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. Competitors can participate in three formats: Professional (Amateurs): 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run; Sprint (Amateurs): 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run; Super Sprint (Age Groups & Beginners): 400m swim, 10km cycle, 2.5km run.
A team category is also included, where three female athletes compete in different disciplines within the Sprint and Super Sprint formats, encouraging teamwork and strategic collaboration.
This initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to empower women in building a balanced society and enhancing their participation in international sporting events. The event reflects Dubai Sports Council’s mission to make the city a leading global sports destination, while providing women with a safe and competitive environment to excel.
By hosting a women-only world cup, Dubai reinforces its focus on equality and the growth of female participation in endurance sports worldwide.
The World Triathlon, formerly known as the International Triathlon Union (ITU), confirmed its pride in including the event in its official calendar. The global governing body praised Dubai’s initiative as strategically important and transformative for women’s sports.
World Triathlon President Antonio Fernandez Arimany commended Dubai for its pioneering role in supporting female athletes and emphasised the event’s contribution to expanding women’s participation in endurance sports worldwide.
The Dubai Sports Council has opened registration for women aged 18 and above, from all nationalities, both inside and outside the UAE. Participants can register through the official event website. Registration will continue until 3rd December 2025, giving athletes ample time to secure their participation in this historic competition.
The Women’s Triathlon World Cup Dubai 2025 represents a major milestone for female athletes globally. It not only provides international exposure but also fosters an environment that promotes health, fitness, and empowerment. The event is expected to set new standards for women’s triathlon competitions, encouraging more nations to host similar events in the future.
