Volkswagen Transforms Dresden Factory into AI Innovation Hub

In a historical shift, Volkswagen has announced the closure of its Dresden factory, marking a significant moment as it ceases operations for the first time in 88 years. The last vehicle will be produced on Tuesday, as the facility transitions to a new focus. CFO Arnaud Antlitz noted a cautious optimism about the company's net profit for 2025, which is now anticipated to be slightly above zero, contradicted by analysts who expect persistent global pressures. Expert Steven Reitman of the Bernstein Center commented on Volkswagen's need to streamline expenses and enhance operating profits, emphasizing the need for renewed investments in gasoline technologies to adapt to the prolonged lifespan of fossil fuel engines.
