Vietnam has welcomed an impressive number of international tourists, surpassing 6.7 million in the first quarter of 2026. Official statistics reveal a remarkable 12.4 percent increase compared to Q1 2025, underlining Vietnam's rising status as a prominent travel hotspot.
In March 2026 alone, the nation registered over 2 million international arrivals. Although this was a slight decline from February's figures, it still signifies an annual increase. The largest groups of visitors hailed from countries including China, South Korea, the United States, Japan, India, and Australia, showcasing a broadening tourist demographic.
Air travel stood out as the primary means of entry, comprising the largest share of international arrivals, although land and sea routes played a role in the statistics as well. Additionally, local tourism thrived, with millions of domestic travelers also contributing to the vibrant sector.
Tourism revenue in the first quarter is estimated at approximately 267 trillion VND, illustrating a significant boost to the national economy. The ongoing growth in visitor numbers highlights Vietnam’s effective tourism promotion strategies, infrastructure improvements, and enriched travel experiences.
