US Woman Sues Singapore Airlines Over Shrimp Allergy Scare

The woman, named Jacqueline McKenzie, says she told the airline about her strong allergy to shellfish before the flight. She claims she was assured that her meal would not have any seafood. But during the flight, she was served a meal that contained shrimp.

Soon after eating the food, Jacqueline began to feel unwell. Her face swelled, her throat tightened, and she started having trouble breathing. She had to use two EpiPens and take steroids and inhalers to control the reaction.

According to her, the airline staff did not handle the emergency properly. She says they did not offer the needed help quickly. Now, she is asking the court in Australia for compensation, saying the airline failed in its duty to keep her safe.Her lawyers have also said that food safety should be taken seriously, especially when passengers inform airlines about allergies in advance. They added that what happened could have turned deadly.

Singapore Airlines has not given a full comment yet, but they said they are looking into the case.
