When asked if it’s okay for kids to use ChatGPT for schoolwork, Mr. Kyle said, “Yes, as long as they have someone to guide them. ChatGPT is already used in many jobs, so it’s important for children to learn how to use it in their studies.”
He also compared it to when calculators were first used in schools. Just like calculators helped students with math, ChatGPT could help students in other subjects if used the right way.
ChatGPT is a tool that lets people have conversations and ask questions, almost like talking to a real person. While some are worried that students might depend too much on ChatGPT for their homework, Mr. Kyle thinks it can help smart kids learn even more. He said it could challenge them and give them new ways to think.
The UK government is making a plan for using new technology in the future. They believe that using this technology the right way could make the country’s economy grow a lot. Many businesses are also planning to invest in this area, which could create many new jobs.
Even though the full details of the government’s plan are not yet clear, Mr. Kyle promised that they would make sure the technology is safe and useful for everyone. He said that the old government worried too much about the risks, which made people feel nervous. The new government wants to find a good balance between using new technology and keeping people safe.
