The United Arab Emirates Under-23 national football team continued their impressive run in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers by defeating Hong Kong 2-0 in the second round of Group 9 matches. The game took place at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, where home fans witnessed a confident performance from the young Emirati players.
This important victory pushed the UAE team’s points total to six, putting them in a strong position in the group standings as they aim to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
The match was balanced in the first half, with both teams trying to create chances but struggling to break the deadlock. The Hong Kong defense stood firm against early UAE attacks, while the Emirati goalkeeper ensured that no surprise goals came from the visitors.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 58th minute, when Junior Ndiaye found the back of the net after capitalizing on a well-constructed team move. His goal lifted the energy in the stadium and gave the UAE side the confidence to press forward even harder.
Hong Kong attempted to respond by pushing more players into attack, but the UAE defenders remained disciplined, cutting off every opportunity and keeping control of the midfield.
