The United Arab Emirates has delivered its first shipment of medical aid to help people in Afghanistan who have been affected by a recent earthquake. This earthquake struck several areas, causing damage and leaving many people in need of urgent medical care and support.
This relief effort was directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), closely monitored the relief operations to ensure quick and effective assistance. This shows the UAE’s ongoing commitment to helping communities around the world that face disasters.
The medical aid shipment included essential supplies needed by hospitals and health institutions to treat people affected by the earthquake. As soon as the supplies arrived in Afghanistan last Wednesday, a special joint operations team started working immediately. They coordinated with local authorities and health organizations to distribute the aid quickly and help strengthen the local medical system.
The UAE has always emphasized helping those in need, whether at home or abroad. This mission demonstrates its global humanitarian role and dedication to providing emergency assistance during natural disasters. By sending these supplies, the UAE aims to reduce suffering, save lives, and support the recovery of affected communities in Afghanistan.

This initiative is part of a wider effort by the Emirates Red Crescent to respond swiftly to emergencies. Teams are continuing to assess the situation in Afghanistan to ensure the aid reaches the areas most in need. Hospitals and health centers will now have better capacity to care for patients affected by the earthquake, including those with injuries, illnesses, or other urgent health concerns.
Officials said the UAE will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional support if needed. This step reflects the country’s principle of promoting international solidarity and using its resources to help people in crisis, wherever they are in the world.
The local people in Afghanistan have welcomed the assistance, saying that it will help ease their hardships and provide essential medical care to those affected by the disaster. Aid workers are working around the clock to make sure that the supplies are distributed efficiently and fairly to reach the maximum number of people in need.
This delivery also highlights the important role of international cooperation in tackling humanitarian crises. The UAE’s swift response is being recognized as a significant effort to save lives and support recovery after the natural disaster.
