At a United Nations meeting about Palestine, Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab, the UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN, said that the UAE strongly supports the Palestinian people. He explained that peace in the region can only happen if there is a lasting solution to the conflict between Arabs and Israelis, which should be based on the idea of two separate states.

Abushahab said that numbers and statistics can’t show the true damage caused by the war. He talked about the emotional pain people feel after seeing the destruction. He said, “The effects of this war are more than just the dead and injured. The pain will last for years as people remember their loved ones and the homes they lost.” He also explained how houses, once full of memories, are now piles of rubble.
The ambassador said that for lasting peace, the solution must be fair and final. He called for a clear plan to create a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Abushahab said this state should live peacefully with Israel to make the region stable.
The UAE’s strong support for Palestine shows its belief in finding a fair solution that will bring peace to the region.
