The UAE President emphasized the importance of rebuilding Gaza as part of a larger effort to achieve a "comprehensive and lasting peace" in the region. He reiterated the UAE's support for a two-state solution, which he believes is crucial for the long-term stability of the Middle East.
The discussions between President Sheikh Mohamed and Secretary Rubio mainly focused on the situation in Gaza and its impact on regional security. The UAE President warned that if the violence continues to escalate, it could further destabilize the region. He urged both sides to work harder to prevent the conflict from spreading.
In addition to the Gaza crisis, the two leaders also talked about ways to strengthen the partnership between the UAE and the U.S. in various areas, including the economy, politics, and humanitarian efforts.
Secretary Rubio’s visit to Abu Dhabi is part of his first Middle East tour as the U.S. Secretary of State. Before coming to the UAE, he had already visited Israel and Saudi Arabia.
