The Ministry of Sports, in partnership with the National Olympic Committee (NOC), has started a new project called the Digital Transformation and Sports Innovation Platform. The launch event was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the NOC. The goal of this platform is to use technology and data to improve the sports sector in the UAE.
The signing ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, along with other important officials. The platform will help athletes, clubs, and sports federations by using artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis. This will make sports management more organised and effective, helping the country reach the National Sports Strategy 2031 goals.

A New Step for Sports in the UAE
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and His Excellency Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the NOC.
The platform aims to build a smart sports system by using data and technology. It will improve how athletes are trained, how clubs make decisions, and how sports events are managed. This step will help the UAE become a leader in sports in the region and around the world.
Boosting the Future of Emirati Sports
During the event, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed said that this platform is an important step for the future of sports in the UAE. He stated:
“Developing sports is not only about winning medals. It is about building a strong and future-ready system. This platform will use technology and knowledge to help athletes perform better and make sports a bigger part of the country’s progress.”
He added that the National Olympic Committee is not only focused on supporting athletes but also on leading a major change that will strengthen the UAE’s presence in the global Olympic movement.
Using Technology for Better Sports Management
Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi said that digital transformation is necessary for sports growth. He explained:
“Technology is now essential for making sports better. This platform will create a tech-powered system that tracks performance, discovers new talent, and makes operations smoother. It will also make sports management smarter and more effective.”
He added that the launch of this platform shows the Ministry’s commitment to creating a clear sports vision and building stronger policies that will have a positive social and economic impact.
Smart Systems and Better Skills
The Digital Transformation and Sports Innovation Platform aims to create a modern sports system with:
Smart data systems to track athlete performance and progress.
AI-powered tools to discover new sports talent.
Digital solutions to help clubs and federations make better decisions.
Support for innovation in sports technology and promoting new ideas.
To help make the most of this platform, the Ministry will offer special training programmes. These will help coaches, staff, and sports managers improve their skills in data analysis, digital management, and sports technology.
Strong Partnerships for a Stronger Future
The platform will build partnerships with local and international sports organisations to improve the sports system. Some of the key partners include:
What’s Next?
In the coming weeks, the platform will reveal its official name and logo and introduce its board of directors, which will include experts from sports and technology.
This project is the first of its kind in the UAE and shows the country’s strong commitment to using technology to improve sports. By bringing together knowledge, technology, and innovation, the platform aims to create a brighter future for sports in the UAE.
