Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, conducted a site visit to the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) to review the response measures taken after a recent fire incident at one of the zone’s facilities.
The visit focused on assessing the work of emergency teams and authorities involved in controlling the fire while ensuring the safety of critical infrastructure and maintaining operational continuity in the area.
During the inspection, the minister received a detailed briefing on the rapid response actions taken to contain the fire. Officials explained the emergency plans used to manage incidents at oil facilities and highlighted the strong coordination between emergency teams and concerned authorities. These actions helped ensure the incident was handled quickly and according to internationally recognised safety standards.
Al Mazrouei also reviewed the industrial safety systems operating within the zone. Authorities presented information about preventive measures, risk management procedures, and the role of emergency teams in strengthening preparedness for such incidents. These systems are designed to protect workers, safeguard facilities, and ensure that operations continue without disruption.
The minister confirmed that energy supplies across the UAE remain stable and are functioning normally. He stated that the national energy system and supply chains are operating efficiently with strong preparedness and flexibility, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply to the domestic market.
He further explained that relevant authorities are closely monitoring the situation through an integrated national system for emergency management and business continuity. This system helps maintain market stability and ensures essential services continue under all circumstances.
Al Mazrouei praised the efforts of emergency teams and authorities involved in managing the incident. He highlighted that the high level of coordination between different entities reflects the UAE’s strong ability to handle emergency situations according to international standards.
The visit also included a tour of the Emergency Response Centre and several facilities within the industrial zone. During the tour, the minister reviewed equipment and safety procedures designed to strengthen prevention measures and enable faster responses to future incidents, demonstrating the advanced readiness of the UAE’s energy sector safety systems.
