Dubai witnessed a strong show of collective humanitarian effort as the UAE Food Bank held its Annual Ceremony for 2025, bringing together partners, volunteers, and supporters who have played a key role in advancing food security across the country and beyond.
Held at Madinat Jumeirah, the event reflected the scale at which the UAE Food Bank now operates, uniting government bodies, private-sector organisations, non-profits, volunteer teams, and individual contributors under one roof. The gathering focused on recognising shared efforts that continue to strengthen food preservation, redistribution, and awareness initiatives.
A total of 67 entities were honoured during the ceremony for their contributions throughout the year. These included recipients of the Endowment Mark, long-term donors, corporate partners, volunteer teams, former institutional collaborators, and digital influencers who helped extend the reach of the Food Bank’s message. The recognition highlighted how diverse partnerships have become central to sustaining year-round food relief and waste-reduction programmes.
The 2025 review presented during the ceremony underscored the expanding scope of the Food Bank’s work. More than 23 million people benefitted from surplus food redistributed in coordination with food institutions, while financial donations reached AED 1.1 million. Educational and awareness campaigns engaged over two million people, reinforcing responsible consumption habits across communities. The Bank also implemented 20 major initiatives supported by extensive volunteer participation and signed 28 cooperation agreements with partners locally, regionally, and internationally.
Environmental impact remained a key focus throughout the year. In 2025 alone, more than 6,275 tonnes of surplus food were diverted from landfills, an amount equivalent to over 15 million meals. This achievement directly supported national goals to reduce food waste while limiting environmental emissions, positioning food preservation as both a humanitarian and sustainability priority.
Since its establishment, the UAE Food Bank has distributed more than 100 million meals, a milestone built steadily through structured planning, partner collaboration, and growing public engagement. The ceremony served as a reflection of how coordinated action has transformed surplus food into a vital resource for those in need.
The evening concluded with a renewed sense of shared responsibility among attendees, reinforcing the idea that lasting humanitarian impact depends on continuity, collaboration, and community-driven action. As the UAE Food Bank looks ahead, the foundations laid in 2025 signal a broader, more connected network working toward food security and social wellbeing.
