UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, welcomed the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, The Azerbaijani President is in the UAE to attend Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). Sheikh Mohamed said he was happy to host President Aliyev and thanked him for being part of ADSW. He also congratulated Azerbaijan for successfully hosting COP29, the global climate conference, and praised President Aliyev’s role in making it a success.

The two leaders met at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. They talked about ways to work together in important areas like the economy, investments, clean energy, and fighting climate change. They also discussed the ongoing partnership between the UAE and Azerbaijan in renewable energy. The UAE's Masdar company is working with Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) on solar and wind energy projects. These projects aim to create clean energy and help both countries move toward a greener future.
President Aliyev thanked the UAE for its warm welcome and praised Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week for raising awareness about the world’s environmental challenges. He promised that Azerbaijan would continue to strengthen its ties with the UAE in different areas, such as trade and technology. Both leaders agreed that the world needs to work together to solve big problems like climate change. They agreed that both countries must continue to work closely and find solutions that will help everyone.
The meeting showed how strong the relationship between the UAE and Azerbaijan is. Both leaders are committed to working together for a better future, using new ideas and partnerships to make the world a better place.
