The UAE National Para Cycling Team continued its impressive run at the Asian Track Championships in Tagaytay, Philippines, delivering another strong performance on the third day of competition. The team secured four additional medals — two gold, one silver, and one bronze — taking their overall tally to eight medals, including three gold, three silver, and two bronze.
Leading the charge was Abdullah Salem Al Balushi, who emerged as the star performer of the day. He clinched two gold medals in the C4 category, first dominating the 10 km scratch race with a powerful finish ahead of Indonesia’s Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin, while Uzbekistan’s Abror Ibragimov settled for third place. Al Balushi followed it up with another gold in the C4 sprint race, once again outperforming Ibragimov, who finished second.
With these victories, Al Balushi has now accumulated an impressive total of three gold medals and one silver, reinforcing his position among the championship’s top athletes.
Meanwhile, Salama Al Khateri also delivered a commendable performance, adding two more medals to her tally. She secured a silver medal in the C5 scratch race and a bronze in the individual sprint event in the same category. Her overall count now stands at four medals — two silver and two bronze.
Dhiban Salem Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the National Paralympic Committee, praised the team’s achievements, highlighting that these results reflect the strong support of the UAE leadership. He emphasised the athletes’ dedication, consistent efforts, and competitive spirit, noting that the team continues to successfully compete against Asia’s top cyclists while proudly representing the nation on the continental stage.
