Nigeria's president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had just landed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he was warmly welcomed by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The president traveled from Abuja, Nigeria's capital, to attend the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

This event, scheduled for January 12 to 18, is the summit that serves as a critical gathering to advance the global sustainability agenda. The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, personally invited President Tinubu to attend the summit. According to Bayo Onanuga, the presidential spokesperson, the summit will bring together world leaders to deliberate on how best to accelerate the pace of progress in sustainable development and socioeconomic growth.
This is a critical opportunity for international cooperation on critical global issues as leaders work towards finding solutions to the world's most critical problems. Discussions at the summit are expected to center on sustainable practices in many sectors and to make life better for all.
