The Walt Disney Company has officially opened its highly anticipated “World of Frozen” at Disneyland Paris, marking the largest expansion in the resort’s 34-year history.
The new themed land features a stunning 118-foot ice mountain topped by Elsa’s palace, recreating the magical kingdom of Arendelle. Below, visitors can explore a Nordic-style village inspired by the hit animated franchise Frozen.
Part of €2 Billion Transformation
The launch is a centerpiece of a €2 billion transformation project that also includes renaming Walt Disney Studios Park to Disney Adventure World. The expansion adds new attractions, dining venues, and immersive experiences.
Celebrities including Penélope Cruz, Naomi Campbell, and Teyana Taylor attended the grand opening event.
A Major Moment for Disney’s New CEO
The event also marked the first major international appearance of Disney’s new CEO, Josh D’Amaro, who assumed the role earlier in March 2026.
He described the opening as a “transformational moment,” emphasizing storytelling as the core of Disney’s global success across films, parks, and experiences.
Immersive Attractions and Experiences
The highlight attraction, “Frozen Ever After,” takes visitors on a boat ride through Arendelle, featuring advanced animatronics and immersive visuals. Guests can also meet characters like Anna and Elsa inside the castle.
Additional experiences include:
A live lagoon show called Snow Flower Festival
A next-generation robotic Olaf interaction
Themed dining, including the Regal View Restaurant
The park also introduces Adventure Bay, a large central lake, and a new Tangled-inspired family ride.
Economic Impact and Expansion Plans
French President Emmanuel Macron attended the event, calling Disneyland Paris Europe’s top tourist destination and a key economic driver.
The expansion is expected to create around 1,000 new jobs. Since opening in 1992, the park has attracted over 445 million visitors and contributes significantly to France’s tourism revenue.
From Criticism to Global Success
Originally launched as Euro Disney, the park once faced criticism in France. Today, it stands as a major success story and a cornerstone of Disney’s global theme park strategy.
More expansions are already planned, including a new Lion King-themed land, as Disney continues investing billions into its parks and experiences worldwide.
A New Chapter for Disneyland Paris
With over 90% of its second park redesigned, Disney Adventure World is set to nearly double in size. The debut of “World of Frozen” signals a new era for the resort, blending European storytelling roots with cutting-edge entertainment.
As fireworks lit up the sky and Elsa’s palace glowed blue, Disneyland Paris officially welcomed visitors into a magical new kingdom—bringing the world of Frozen to life like never before.
