Empower Signs Deal to Cool Dubai’s City Walk Phase 3

In a strategic move to meet the rising demand for energy-efficient cooling solutions, Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower) has signed a significant agreement with Meraas, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding.

Under this agreement, Empower will provide more than 17,500 refrigeration tons (RT) of district cooling capacity to City Walk Phase 3 and the Verve building in Dubai. This development aligns with Empower’s ongoing expansion strategy and reflects its commitment to delivering environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions.

The partnership highlights Empower’s leadership in the district cooling sector, where it continues to integrate advanced technologies to ensure high operational efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and enhanced customer comfort.

City Walk Phase 3 represents a major addition to Empower’s growing portfolio of landmark projects across Dubai. By the end of 2025, the company’s total connected cooling capacity is expected to reach approximately 1.7 million RT, serving nearly 1,750 buildings, while its contracted capacity has already approached 2.0 million RT.

Commenting on the agreement, CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar stated that the deal reinforces Empower’s position as a trusted partner in district cooling services. He emphasized that such projects play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions and support the sustainability vision of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He further added that with Dubai’s rapidly growing real estate sector, Empower is focused on delivering innovative solutions that align with the emirate’s ambition to build a sustainable and green economy, while contributing to the UAE’s net-zero goals.

The City Walk Phase 3 project itself is set to redefine modern urban living. Designed with a blend of luxury, innovation, and sustainability, the development will offer high-end residential units alongside premium amenities such as green spaces, entertainment zones, and sports facilities.
