Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held a meeting with Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East issue.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the strong and longstanding friendship between the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of China. They also discussed ways to expand cooperation across different sectors under the comprehensive strategic partnership shared by the two countries.
The talks also addressed regional developments, including the repercussions of recent Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and several countries in the region. Both sides discussed the importance of strengthening regional security and stability.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed highlighted the need for diplomatic solutions and responsible dialogue to reduce tensions in the region. He stressed that constructive diplomacy is essential to protect regional security and ensure long-term stability.
He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the People's Republic of China in supporting initiatives that promote peace and stability in the Middle East. Sheikh Abdullah praised China’s role in encouraging dialogue and diplomatic efforts to address regional crises and challenges.
The meeting was also attended by Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri.
