Toronto Crash Kills 3 Kids, Teen Driver Arrested

In a heartbreaking accident in Toronto early Sunday morning, three children lost their lives in a car crash. Police said the crash happened just after midnight at around 12:33 a.m. near the Highway 401 exit ramp at Renforth Drive, in the west part of the city.

According to Toronto Police, the children who died were aged 15, 13, and six years old. They were inside a car that had stopped on the off-ramp. Three other people in the same car were also hurt: a 40-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and a 10-year-old child. All of them were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police said the injured woman is the mother of the children, and the injured man is a family friend.

The accident happened when a Dodge Caravan, driven by a 19-year-old named Ethan Lehouillier, crashed into the back of their car. Their car, a Chrysler Pacifica, was stopped at the time. Police said that two of the children died on the spot, and the third child was taken to the hospital but sadly died later.

Ethan Lehouillier was the only person inside the Dodge Caravan. He was arrested right at the scene. Police believe he was driving while drunk and dangerously. He has now been charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving causing death. He is expected to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Sunday morning.

Police are still looking into what happened and have closed Renforth Drive for the investigation. Officers are asking people who live nearby, or anyone who may have security camera or dashcam video of the crash, to come forward and help with the investigation.

This tragic event has deeply saddened the community and reminded everyone about the serious dangers of drinking and driving.
