Vietnam-China Border Festival 2026 Kicks Off in Guangxi

The Vietnam-China Border People's Festival 2026 commenced in Nanning city, Guangxi, featuring President To Lam as a key attendee. This event, part of his official visit to China, gathered leaders, youth, and residents to celebrate the enduring friendship and collaborative spirit between the two nations.

Jointly organized by bilateral friendship associations and backed by the Guangxi government, this festival aims to enhance interpersonal connections. It represents a vision for solidifying social foundations to promote sustained cooperation and mutual growth between Vietnam and China in the modern era.

Chinese leader Tran Cuong articulated the long-standing camaraderie between the two countries, reflecting on how border communities have coexisted peacefully and aided one another. He pointed out Guangxi's unique position as the only Chinese region sharing land and marine borders with Vietnam, emphasizing its pivotal role in fostering this relationship through local partnerships.

During his speech, President To Lam acknowledged Guangxi's significance as a site of shared revolutionary history. He recalled crucial historical locations associated with Ho Chi Minh, where Vietnamese revolutionaries were supported by the local Chinese communities.
