An enchanting night of chamber music was hosted at the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, featuring esteemed artists alongside rising stars. This event not only honored classical music traditions but also embraced innovative interpretations and youthful creativity.
Opening the evening, Leyli Okdirova, an Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, captivated the audience with a poignant rendition of Nury Halmamedov’s “Unheard Songs of the Children of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.” Her exquisite coloratura soprano voice perfectly conveyed the intricate emotions behind the lyrics, leaving a lasting impact on listeners.
The program proceeded with refined sonatas by iconic composers like Robert Schumann and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, skillfully interpreted by gifted violinists Alan Kasymov, Selime Shaberdieva, and Latifa Rahimova. Their performances demonstrated both technical excellence and expressive artistry, enhancing the concert’s sophisticated ambience.
Gulnar Nuriyeva, a People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, added further emotional depth with stirring arias from operas by Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Giacomo Puccini, and Johannes Brahms. Her dramatic soprano voice resonated powerfully with the audience, garnering heartfelt applause.
A standout moment was presented by young pianist Tylla Shirova, whose talent and poise shone brightly. She showcased her skills with “The Voice of the Dutar” by Nury Halmamedov, Beethoven’s 8th Sonata, and a Nocturne by Frederic Chopin, leaving a memorable impression as a promising future artist.
The evening also highlighted the superior abilities of concertmasters mentored by esteemed teacher Stella Faramazova, whose guidance has been pivotal in shaping the high standards of musical education at the conservatory. Their accompaniment enriched each performance, creating a harmonious musical experience.
Ultimately, the chamber concert not only showcased splendid classical music but also celebrated the fusion of seasoned experience and rising talent within Turkmenistan’s vibrant music scene. The event reminded everyone of music’s power to bridge cultures, stir emotions, and inspire future generations.
