SpiceJet Delhi-Patna Flight Returns Over Technical Issue

In an unexpected disruption, SpiceJet’s SG 497, scheduled from Delhi to Patna, was forced to return to the capital shortly after takeoff on Thursday morning. The flight, which departed at 9:41 am, experienced a suspected technical issue, prompting the crew to prioritize passenger safety and return to Delhi.

The Boeing 737-8A aircraft was immediately grounded for a thorough inspection, and aviation officials confirmed that detailed checks are currently underway. Passengers affected by the incident are being arranged alternate flights, though the exact schedule has yet to be announced.

This is the latest in a series of in-flight technical incidents reported by Indian airlines. Just two months ago, a SpiceJet flight bound for Srinagar made an emergency landing shortly after departure from Delhi, carrying 205 passengers and seven crew members. In August, an Indigo flight to Dubai from Surat also returned to Ahmedabad due to a similar mid-air technical snag.
