SIRBAI has officially launched the Middle East’s first AI-powered autonomous drone swarm technology at UMEX 2026, a global exhibition for unmanned and autonomous defense systems. With this launch, SIRBAI has entered the defense technology sector, bringing advanced autonomous capabilities to modern military operations.

The new platform is designed for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and allows multiple drones to work together autonomously, even in complex and high-risk environments. As the first company in the region to introduce this technology, SIRBAI aims to reshape modern battlefield operations with scalable, secure, and operator-friendly autonomous systems.

SIRBAI focuses on defense autonomy and intelligent swarm technologies. Its platform has been developed by a team of over 40 engineers specializing in artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomous systems. The technology is built on advanced research carried out in Abu Dhabi, including innovations originating from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII).

The company follows a software-first and fully in-house development model, enabling faster upgrades, strong security, and flexibility across different defense platforms. SIRBAI’s mission is to help nations build secure and resilient defense systems using practical AI-enabled swarm technology.

Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of TII, said the launch is a major step for the region’s defense ecosystem. She noted that combining AI with autonomous drone operations sets a new benchmark for resilient and operator-focused mission systems and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening national and global security.

The platform supports a wide range of defense missions, including surveillance, protection, and manned-unmanned teaming. It uses AI-driven mission planning, real-time coordination, and distributed decision-making to reduce operator workload while improving mission efficiency. All mission planning, command, and swarm control are integrated into a single system, allowing faster decisions and easier drone fleet management.

Dr. Dario Albani, Chief Technology Officer at SIRBAI, said the platform connects human intent with autonomous mission execution. He added that the system ensures continuous information flow, resilient autonomy, and rapid response in demanding environments while keeping operators in control.

SIRBAI’s technology is designed to work across multiple platforms, from small tactical drones to advanced unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs). It is also built for GPS-denied and jammed environments, using resilient navigation systems to maintain coordinated swarm operations even under limited connectivity.
