His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who is the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and the Humanitarian Envoy of The Big Heart Foundation, took part in a special event called "Clothing for Olive Children" on Thursday afternoon. This event was set up by The Big Heart Foundation and will continue until March 26 at City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah. It is part of a Ramadan campaign aimed at bringing happiness to 20,000 Palestinian orphans in Gaza.

The "Clothing for Olive Children" initiative was launched by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the wife of the Ruler of Sharjah. She is also the Chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation and an advocate for refugee children at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The goal of this campaign is to collect donations and zakat during Ramadan to help orphaned children in Gaza. These children have lost their parents and are struggling to survive without anyone to support them.

During the event, His Highness, who serves as the Humanitarian Envoy of The Big Heart Foundation, learned about the initiative’s goals. He also saw how the boxes filled with children’s supplies were packed and prepared. He was briefed on the efforts being made to make sure these boxes reach the children in Gaza on time, bringing them comfort and happiness.

The boxes are designed for children from newborns up to 18 years old. Each box contains clothing items that are chosen based on the child's age and gender. The boys' box includes a jacket, shirt, pants, underwear, socks, and shoes. The girls' box contains a dress, jacket, shirt, pants, underwear, socks, and shoes. The clothing is selected carefully to match the customs and traditions of the children, and it is also suited for the local climate to ensure their comfort.

His Highness also observed how the volunteers packed the boxes. Each packer received a card with the child's age, gender, and the list of required clothing items. They then carefully filled the box with the right clothing. After everything was checked and matched with the list, the box was sealed. His Highness also wrote warm and kind messages on the cards placed inside the boxes. These messages carried hope and love to the orphans in Gaza, making the gesture even more special.

The Big Heart Foundation is working with Taawon, Majid Al Futtaim Group, and Operation Gallant Knight to run this initiative from March 20 to 26. Volunteers and donors are encouraged to help in preparing 20,000 boxes filled with essential items for orphaned children in Gaza. People can join the box-packing sessions every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The foundation is also inviting individuals, businesses, and government agencies to support this cause. By donating AED 200, one child can receive essential supplies. Donations can be made in different ways, including through the official website, text messages, bank transfers, and online fundraising platforms like "YallaGive." Donors and sponsors also have the option to decorate the boxes and write special messages to the children, making their support even more personal and heartfelt.
