His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, attended a special graduation ceremony. This event was for students who finished the Government Accelerators Diploma programme.
This year’s graduates came from 12 federal departments, 18 local departments, and 2 semi-government departments. During the programme, they worked on 35 different challenges in four main areas.

21 challenges focused on making the government work faster and with less paperwork.
8 challenges asked students to find ways to improve people’s daily lives.
3 challenges were about community services.
3 challenges tested how well they could spread knowledge and increase awareness.
The Government Accelerators Diploma trains UAE talents to solve problems quickly. It also teaches them how to become creative leaders who can use these skills in their own departments.
At the event, the Government Accelerators Center announced a new ‘Government Accelerators Ambassadors Network’. This network will help graduates connect with each other, share knowledge, and build strong teamwork across the country. Graduates who perform well will become ‘Accelerator Ambassadors’. They will guide new students and help improve government work in the UAE and beyond.
Awards Ceremony for Best Projects
During the ceremony, awards were given to the best projects from the diploma programme. Three projects stood out from 86 ideas shared by students over five groups:
Hayat Organ Donation Initiative – This project by the Ministry of Health and Prevention helped increase the number of people signing up for organ donation in Fujairah by 50% in just 100 days. They achieved this through awareness campaigns in schools, universities, mosques, and community centres.
Traffic Speed Limit Reduction System – Created by Abu Dhabi Police, this smart system uses AI to check weather and traffic data. It changes speed limits on roads automatically and warns drivers. It helped reduce severe road accidents by 100% on some roads and improved emergency response time by 90%.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) – DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) used this project to automate their work using AI and robots. This saved them about AED24 million and 161,000 working hours every year since 2020. It made their work faster and helped reduce costs.
About the Government Accelerators
The Government Accelerators were started by Sheikh Mohammed to encourage teamwork between government, private companies, and universities. The aim is to bring new ideas, solve problems quickly, and give better services to people.
Since it started in April 2019, the diploma programme has trained 217 people from more than 135 different organisations. Together, they worked on 121 challenges with help from 750 other team members to build a smarter and faster government for the UAE.
