Dubai is witnessing a remarkable push toward voluntary blood donation as the ‘My Blood, for My Country’ campaign gains momentum across the city. His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum personally donated blood at the Dubai Health Blood Donation Center, sending a strong message on the significance of humanitarian giving.

The initiative underscores that blood donation is not just a medical necessity but a national duty, reflecting the UAE’s core values of solidarity and community support. With the campaign, Dubai aims to ensure sufficient blood supplies for hospitals and specialized centers, including the Thalassemia Center, while encouraging first-time donors and young people aged 18 to 30 to participate.

Organized in collaboration with Al Ameen Service, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Health, and Emarat Al Youm, the campaign focuses on raising awareness about the life-saving impact of blood donation. It also targets individuals with rare blood types and invites both public and private sector entities to host donation drives, promoting a culture of giving that extends across the nation.

Over the years, ‘My Blood, for My Country’ has fostered stronger community solidarity, inspiring citizens and residents to contribute to public health initiatives. The campaign has been instrumental in supporting patients, advancing disease prevention, and reinforcing the readiness of Dubai’s healthcare system.

The initiative’s success lies in its ability to transform awareness into action. By appealing to the younger generation and encouraging repeated donations, the campaign is creating a sustainable blood donation ecosystem, ensuring that life-saving supplies are available for those in need.

With continued community engagement, Dubai is not only meeting its healthcare objectives but also cultivating a deeply rooted culture of humanitarian responsibility, demonstrating how leadership and participation can save lives and strengthen society as a whole.
