Sheikh Hamdan Lauds Dubai Civil Defense Fire Response

Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, commended Dubai Civil Defense for their outstanding performance in swiftly controlling a recent building fire in the city.

The Crown Prince, who is also Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, met with members of Dubai Civil Defense in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defense.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the team’s professionalism, advanced training, and ability to effectively operate cutting-edge firefighting equipment. He said their swift and coordinated response reflected Dubai’s commitment to ensuring safety and reinforcing its position as one of the world’s safest cities.

Lieutenant General Al Matrooshi thanked Sheikh Hamdan for his continuous support, noting that the leadership’s guidance motivates Civil Defense personnel to uphold the highest standards of skill, training, and equipment modernisation. He reaffirmed the team’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property in line with Dubai’s vision as a global leader in safety and resilience.

Last week, Dubai Civil Defense successfully deployed its advanced “Shaheen” drones to contain a fire in a residential building in Al Barsha. The drones, designed to tackle high-rise fires up to 200 metres tall, are equipped with a 1,200-litre tank for water and firefighting foam, providing rapid aerial assistance in emergencies.

The latest achievement highlights Dubai’s growing adoption of state-of-the-art technologies in civil defense operations, underscoring the city’s proactive approach to urban safety and emergency preparedness.
