Tech billionaire Elon Musk has been named in newly released Jeffrey Epstein documents, along with high-profile figures including Bill Gates and Steve Bannon. The six-page files, made public by Democratic lawmakers, mention a tentative trip by Musk on December 6, 2014, to Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands, a site linked to multiple abuse allegations. A note beside Musk’s name read, “Is this still happening?” It remains unclear if Musk actually made the visit.
Musk denied the claims on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “This is false.”
The documents also reveal a planned breakfast with Steve Bannon on February 16, 2019, and a tentative meeting with Bill Gates on December 5, 2014.

Democratic lawmakers urged the US Justice Department to release all Epstein-related files. The Trump administration has previously denied the existence of a “client list,” contradicting conspiracy theories that Epstein collected compromising material on elite figures, including prominent Democrats.
Musk has previously criticized the Trump administration over the handling of Epstein documents. In a now-deleted post, he suggested Trump’s name appeared in the files, which he claimed could explain delays in their release. Musk later admitted the post “went too far.”
Following his resignation from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk continued to pressure the administration to make the files public. He questioned whether electronic records might exist showing who traveled on Epstein’s private plane to the US Virgin Islands. He also called on the President to release all relevant case files, saying, “Seriously. He said 'Epstein' half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised.”
Elon Musk maintains his denial regarding any visit to Epstein’s island. Lawmakers continue to push for full public access to the Epstein case files.
