Sharjah Showcases Smart Sustainability at GITEX 2025

Sharjah, UAE – 14 October 2025: The Government of Sharjah took the spotlight on the second day of GITEX Global 2025, presenting a suite of innovative digital projects that blend technology with sustainability. Under the theme ‘Powered by Tech, Driven by People,’ the emirate is demonstrating how digital transformation can redefine environmental management, agriculture, and public services.

Visitors to the Sharjah pavilion experienced interactive displays highlighting the emirate’s journey toward smarter cities and sustainable growth. The showcase emphasized collaboration between government entities and private-sector partners, reflecting Sharjah’s commitment to integrated innovation.

A key highlight was the partnership signed between Sharjah Digital Department and e&, aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure across the emirate. The collaboration promises advanced connectivity solutions, supporting sustainable digital development while strengthening government network capabilities.

Khorfakkan Municipality introduced the Khorfakkan Smart Gardens, an ambitious project integrating nine AI-driven technologies to create responsive and efficient city parks. From streamlining park operations to improving visitor experiences, the system combines edge AI processing, scalable hardware, and advanced API integration to elevate urban green spaces.

In agriculture, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock unveiled AgriHub, a data-centric platform offering real-time insights for sustainable farming and livestock management. Complementing this, Ektifa – Supply Chain Automation uses IoT and industrial automation to modernize operations in facilities such as Fili poultry farms, wheat harvesting units, and robotic livestock management centers. These projects aim to boost productivity, enhance product quality, and reinforce food security across Sharjah.

Together, these initiatives form part of Sharjah’s broader Environmental Sustainability ecosystem, connecting green urban projects, agriculture, and livestock under a unified digital framework. By leveraging technology to protect natural resources and optimize operations, Sharjah positions itself as a regional leader in sustainable digital development.
