His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah, met with Gilles Pécout, the President of the National Library of France, and his team at the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre (Dara). The meeting was also attended by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, who is the chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), and other important leaders.

During the meeting, His Highness welcomed the French team and shared the importance of the Dara, which is a library and cultural center that holds a huge collection of books, old papers, and special items. Dara is a place to keep and show items that are important to the history and culture of the region.
After the meeting, His Highness and the French team took a tour of the library. They looked at the library’s sections in both Arabic and English. The library has a large collection of books, medals, special awards, and old photographs. Some of the photos showed His Highness with leaders from around the world. The photos also showed awards that honor His Highness's important work in preserving culture and knowledge.
The French delegation also looked at many old and rare items in the library. These items included maps, old papers, books, photographs, and some audio and video recordings. These items show important moments in history and help people understand the past of the region.
After the tour, His Highness and Mr. Pécout talked about how to work together more in the future, especially in the areas of culture and books. They both agreed that the Sharjah Book Authority and the French National Library could do more together to share knowledge and preserve culture. As a sign of friendship, both leaders exchanged gifts and special books.
The French team thanked His Highness for the kind welcome they received. They praised the Dara for its amazing collection of rare books and important items. They wished His Highness good luck in continuing his work to keep and share cultural history.
