The Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Committee has revealed an exciting lineup of events for the UAE’s 53rd National Day, running from November 21 to December 2, 2024. These festivities will take place across various cities and regions in Sharjah, celebrating the nation’s resilience, achievements, and unity, and showcasing the UAE's rich heritage.

The celebrations, which will span over ten days, aim to provide a platform for people to renew their allegiance to the country and its leadership while embracing a sense of pride in the UAE’s journey toward progress. The Sharjah Union Day celebrations, under the theme of "Eid Al Etihad," will be held at key cultural and tourist sites throughout the emirate, reflecting the diversity and spirit of unity that define the UAE.
His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Committee, congratulated the leadership of the UAE, including His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. H.E. Al Midfa also expressed his gratitude to the Executive Council of Sharjah for its continued support in organizing the festivities and praised the efforts of all entities and committee members involved.
In his statement, H.E. Al Midfa highlighted that Union Day is a time to reaffirm the UAE’s national identity and its commitment to progress, prosperity, and tolerance. He invited citizens and residents alike to participate in the celebrations and to honor the values that have shaped the country’s success.
From November 21 to December 2, Sharjah National Park will host a variety of artistic performances, competitions, and educational workshops, with participation from government entities and local authorities. Visitors will experience both entertainment and cultural showcases designed to celebrate the UAE’s achievements.
In Al Dhaid City, a national march is scheduled for November 27, starting from the Grand Mosque and concluding at Al Dhaid Fort. The festivities will also include folklore performances from November 28 to December 1, showcasing traditional Emirati culture.
From November 28 to 30, Al Bataeh will celebrate its heritage with a traditional folk parade featuring local residents, government officials, and schoolchildren. The area will also host horse and classic car parades, folklore performances, and arts shows. The “Union Bus” will tour residential neighborhoods, distributing flags and gifts to mark the occasion.
On November 21, Mleiha Heritage Village will feature a national march, traditional performances, plays, and competitions. A dedicated heritage area will highlight Bedouin traditions, and families will be able to display their products, with children enjoying free access to play areas.
Kalba will host celebratory events from November 23 to 25, including a national march, the Kalba Operetta, classic car parades, and traditional games and sports activities. The festivities will be a blend of cultural pride and community engagement.
Wadi Al Helo will host its own celebrations on November 24, with folk performances, poetry sessions, and award ceremonies celebrating local heritage.
From November 22 to 24, Khorfakkan’s outdoor plaza will host art workshops, activities for children, and traditional performances. The program will begin with the national anthem and include poetry recitals, performances by schoolchildren, and the Al Mazyood military band. The celebration will culminate in a musical folk performance and competitions.
On November 23, Dibba Al Hisn will kick off the festivities with a public march, followed by folklore performances, national operetta, and a range of cultural activities, including poetry recitals and military performances after the Maghrib prayer.
The celebrations in Al Madam will take place on November 22, offering a day filled with heritage performances, children’s activities, poetry sessions, and a fireworks display to close the evening.
Al Hamriyah Beach Park and Creek will host events on November 27 and 28. The festivities on November 27 will include a march, traditional performances, poetry recitals, and artistic displays, while November 28 will feature workshops for children, a sports competition, and entertainment for senior citizens. The community will come together to enjoy cultural expressions and local talents.
On December 1, a prominent musical artist will perform at the Khorfakkan Amphitheater, with all proceeds from the event going to the Big Heart Foundation to support vulnerable people and children worldwide.
Sharjah's Union Day celebrations will bring together a mix of cultural pride, community spirit, and public engagement, providing a great opportunity to celebrate the UAE’s heritage while looking forward to a future of continued growth and development. These events will ensure that every resident and visitor in Sharjah has the opportunity to participate in the festivities and honor the UAE’s remarkable journey.
