Sharjah has taken another major step toward strengthening its media and creative industries. On Wednesday, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, attended the signing of multiple strategic partnership agreements. These agreements were made between Sharjah Media City (SHAMS) and 14 major authorities and institutions across the emirate.
The signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of Sharjah Media City. The main goal of these partnerships is to support the development of the film industry, improve creative content production, and establish a fully integrated media ecosystem that helps Sharjah grow into a global media hub.
Building a Stronger Media Sector in Sharjah
During the event, His Highness praised the cooperation and unity among the different government sectors. He highlighted that joining forces will help improve professional standards, support new media skills, and ensure that the emirate keeps pace with global media trends.
According to His Highness, this collaboration will help create a unified media message for Sharjah, ensuring that content coming from the emirate reflects its cultural identity, development goals, and future vision. This new level of cooperation also supports Sharjah’s aim to attract more investment and talent in the media field.
The 14 Entities Partnering with SHAMS
The strategic partnership agreements include cooperation with a diverse range of government and private sector entities. These include:
Sharjah Police
Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security
Sharjah International Airport Authority
Environment and Protected Areas Authority
Sharjah Digital Department
Sharjah Civil Defence Authority
BEEAH Group
Sharjah Municipality
Sharjah Archaeology Authority
Sharjah Museums Authority
Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq)
Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority

These partners represent key sectors such as security, environment, digital services, tourism, investment, transportation, and heritage. Their involvement shows that Sharjah is adopting a wide-reaching, multi-sector approach to support media growth and innovation.
Key Leaders and Officials Present
The ceremony was attended by several high-level dignitaries. Some of the notable attendees included:
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department
Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority
In addition, senior officials, directors of government authorities, and representatives from economic and investment institutions were also present. Their participation reflects the importance of this step for Sharjah’s future.
Strong Support for SHAMS Studios Project
One of the main pillars of these agreements is support for the SHAMS Studios project, which is expected to become one of the region’s top media production destinations. SHAMS Studios forms part of Sharjah’s larger plan to boost its media infrastructure and position itself as a leader in film production and creative content.
The aim is to create an advanced ecosystem where filmmakers, media companies, startups, and content creators can easily access world-class facilities. With these studios, Sharjah hopes to attract top local, regional, and international talent.
A New Home for Creative Content Production
SHAMS Studios will play a vital role in enhancing Sharjah Media City’s mission. It will offer a full range of tools for film, digital media, and content production, including:
Pre-production support
Filming and shooting spaces
Post-production technology
Editing and visual effects
Sound and audio design
The presence of this complete infrastructure ensures that creative ideas can be turned into high-quality media projects that meet international standards. The studios will also encourage new talent and young creatives to explore filmmaking and content creation in Sharjah.
Advanced Infrastructure: Five Major Studios
During the event, His Highness viewed a detailed presentation on the SHAMS Studios infrastructure. The project includes five major studios, each ranging from 1,500 to 3,400 square meters. These spaces are designed to accommodate large film shoots, commercial productions, documentaries, and high-end creative projects.
The studios will also include specialized spaces for:
visual effects
editing units
sound design rooms
Such facilities are essential for producing movies, digital campaigns, advertisements, and streaming content that meets global benchmarks.
Strengthening Sharjah’s Regional and Global Position
With these partnerships and the development of SHAMS Studios, Sharjah aims to establish itself as a leading center for film and creative content in the region. The emirate is positioning itself as a destination for:
international filmmakers
media companies
creative startups
content producers
This project is expected to boost the emirate’s economy, create job opportunities, and attract investment from local and global markets. It will also promote cultural storytelling and showcase Sharjah’s identity through media.
A Future-Focused Move for Media Development
These partnerships demonstrate Sharjah’s commitment to future-focused development. By creating strong cooperation between government, industry, and creative organizations, Sharjah is building a solid foundation for media innovation.
The emirate’s goal is clear: to create a media ecosystem that supports creative talent, enhances professional skills, and offers world-class production opportunities.
With the SHAMS Studios project and 14 new partnerships, Sharjah is advancing toward a future where it stands among the region’s top media production destinations—empowering filmmakers, inspiring creative minds, and encouraging innovation.
