The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance in Saudi Arabia has announced new rules ahead of Ramadan. These rules strictly ban the use of cameras inside mosques to record or broadcast prayers, including the special Taraweeh prayers. No one is allowed to film the imam or worshippers during prayer times, and prayers cannot be streamed or shared on any media platform.

The ministry has urged imams and preachers to follow these rules carefully. Worshippers have also been reminded to behave respectfully inside mosques and follow proper religious etiquette. These steps have been taken to protect the sacredness of mosques and ensure a peaceful atmosphere where people can pray without distractions.
The ministry said that these measures are part of its commitment to creating a respectful and spiritually uplifting environment for worshippers. It wants to make sure that all religious practices are performed in a calm and respectful setting, free from unnecessary interruptions.
Each year, before Ramadan begins, the ministry issues guidelines to ensure smooth and organized religious activities in mosques. These rules help in maintaining order and allowing worshippers to focus on their prayers.
Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sudais, who oversees religious affairs at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, has highlighted the ministry’s efforts to enhance services during Ramadan. He mentioned that new digital tools will be used to improve the way things are managed in the mosques. This will help Umrah pilgrims and visitors have a better and more comfortable experience when they visit the two holy mosques during the fasting month.
With these new measures, Saudi Arabia aims to provide an environment where worshippers can fully dedicate themselves to prayer and spiritual reflection during Ramadan.
