Samantha Ruth Prabhu became an action star with her role in the Telugu film Yashoda and now in the Amazon Prime Video series Citadel: Honey Bunny. In the show, she plays a spy and does many action scenes. But in a recent interview, Samantha shared how she struggled with her health while filming. She was dealing with myositis, a disease that made her weak. At one point, she even asked the directors to replace her.

In a chat with Galatta India, Samantha said that when she first got the role, she was excited, but later she felt it was too hard for her to continue. "I never thought that after a few months, I would ask Raj & DK to find someone else. It was too hard because of my health," she explained. Myositis made her so sick that she had to go to the hospital.
Samantha even suggested other actresses, like Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon, for the role. She sent their pictures to the directors and said, "Look at them! They would be great for the action scenes. Please, I can’t do it." But Raj & DK told her, "We already know them, don’t worry about it."
Even though she was unwell, Samantha finished filming Citadel: Honey Bunny. The show also stars Varun Dhawan, Kay Kay Menon, and Saqib Saleem. It is a prequel to the Citadel series starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. The show started streaming on Amazon Prime Video last month and quickly became the number one show in the world. Samantha’s performance was praised by many, especially since she completed it while battling her illness.
